3D walkthrough animation a film of your project before it is built

Start a project

A film in which the camera moves through your project along a planned path, from the entrance to the rooms and the view, before any of it is built.

Service

A walkthrough animation is a film. The camera follows a planned path through the building, and every viewer sees the same shots in the same order. We make it from your drawings, with materials, light, landscape and people in place.

Developers order a 3D walkthrough for real estate launches, sales galleries, the project website and presentations to channel partners. Architects order shorter films for clients. Some buyers call it a 3D walk through, a walkthrough video or a flythrough. A flythrough is the same kind of film with the camera in the air, moving over the site. If you want the viewer to choose where to go, that is an interactive walkthrough, which is a different product.

What you get

  • 01

    A planned camera path

We agree the route and the shots with you on a storyboard before anything is rendered.

  • 02

    Exterior, amenities and interiors

The approach and the building, the lobby, the clubhouse and the pool, then the flats or villas, in the order a visit would take.

  • 03

    Flythrough shots

Aerial moves over the site show the master plan, the towers or villas, and how the project sits in its surroundings.

  • 04

    Music and titles

The film is edited with music and on-screen titles, such as the project name, the flat types and the amenities.

  • 05

    Shorter cuts

If you need a short version or a vertical version for social media, say so in the brief, so it is planned and quoted with the main film.

  • 06

    Stills from the same model

The model built for the film can also be used for still renders for the brochure and the hoarding.

What goes into a launch film

An architectural walkthrough video for a launch usually opens outside. It shows the location and the approach, then the building, then the amenities, then a typical flat or villa, and it ends on the view or the project logo. For a township 3D walkthrough the order is wider: the master plan from the air, the entrance, the roads and open spaces, the clubhouse, then the homes.

The length follows the content. One villa or one flat needs a short film. A township with many amenities needs a longer one. The storyboard fixes the length before production.

Per minute, per second or per sq ft

Quotations in India use all three, which makes them hard to compare. Per minute and per second are the same unit at two scales: the price follows the finished length of the film. A per sq ft price follows the built-up area that has to be modelled. Both are ways of measuring the amount of work.

Length alone does not decide the work. A minute spent in one room needs one room modelled. A minute that covers a clubhouse, a pool, a lobby and three flat types needs all of them modelled, furnished and lit. That is why we quote after seeing the drawings and the list of shots. Our guide to 3D walkthrough cost in India goes through each unit.

How it is quotedWhat it measuresWhat to check
Per minute or per secondThe finished length of the filmWhich spaces are covered in that length, and at what level of detail
Per sq ftThe area that has to be modelledWhether landscape, amenities and interiors are all counted in the area
Per projectOne figure for an agreed storyboardThe length, the list of spaces, the revision rounds and the delivery size

What moves the price

A quotation for a real estate walkthrough video should account for each item in this list. Ours states the length of the film, the spaces it covers, the revision rounds, the delivery size and the schedule.

  • The length of the film
  • How many different spaces are shown, inside and outside
  • The size of the site, for aerial and flythrough shots
  • The level of detail in interiors, landscape and people
  • Whether a 3D model already exists from still renders
  • The number of revision rounds included

What we need from you

Drawings are often still changing when a launch film starts. Tell us which parts are fixed and which are not, and we plan the shots so that a late change affects as little as possible.

  • The master plan and the site plan
  • Floor plans, elevations and sections of each building shown
  • Landscape and amenity drawings
  • Interior layouts and material references for the homes shown
  • The architect's 3D model, if there is one: SketchUp, Revit or 3ds Max
  • The logo, the project name and any text for the titles
  • Where the film will be shown, and the date you need it by

When a film is the right choice

A film suits a launch event, a screen in the sales gallery, the top of a website, an advertisement and a message sent on WhatsApp. Everyone sees the same thing, and it plays on any phone.

A film does not let a buyer look around a room or go back to the kitchen. For that, a 360° rendered tour or an interactive walkthrough is the better fit. Either can be added later from the same model.

How it runs

  1. 01

    Brief and drawings

You send the drawings, the list of spaces to show and where the film will run.

  2. 02

    Storyboard

We plan the camera path shot by shot, and you approve the route and the length.

  3. 03

    Model and moving preview

We build the spaces and send a plain moving preview, to check timing and framing.

  4. 04

    Materials, light and render

Finishes, landscape, people and lighting are added, and the shots are rendered.

  5. 05

    Edit and delivery

The shots are edited with music and titles, and you review before the final file is sent.

Questions

How much does a 3D walkthrough cost per minute in India?

It depends on what the minute contains. A film is quoted by length, and the charge per minute rises with the number of spaces modelled and the level of detail. Send the drawings and the list of spaces for a quote.

Is a walkthrough priced per minute or per sq ft?

Both are used. Per minute follows the length of the film, and per sq ft follows the area modelled. We quote on an agreed storyboard, and state the length and the spaces covered.

What is the difference between a walkthrough and a flythrough?

In a walkthrough the camera moves at eye level, as a person would. In a 3D flythrough animation the camera is in the air and moves over the site. Most launch films use both.

How long should a walkthrough film be?

Long enough to show the approach, the amenities and one home, and short enough to be watched to the end. The storyboard decides the length before production starts.

Can you make a walkthrough of a township or a large master plan?

Yes. A township walkthrough usually combines aerial shots of the master plan with eye-level shots of the entrance, the amenities and typical homes. We need the master plan and the amenity drawings.

Can changes be made after the film is rendered?

Yes, within the revision rounds written in the quote. Changes to the camera path are made at the preview stage, because changing the route after rendering means rendering those shots again.

What resolution is the final film?

The delivery size and the format are agreed in the quote. Tell us whether the film will play on a large screen in a sales gallery, on a website or on phones.
