Outsource 3D rendering to India what to check before you choose a studio

Start a project

One studio, in Prabhadevi, Mumbai, with no office abroad. Clients in the UK, the USA and Australia work with us over video calls and shared review links.

Location

If you plan to outsource 3D rendering to India, four things decide whether it goes well: who actually does the work, how feedback is handled, how your files are treated, and how much of the working day overlaps. This page answers each for our studio.

We are Cove Craft Studios, a team of seventeen in Mumbai. One team does the modelling, rendering, films and AI work in-house. The project abroad that we can point to is The Chambéry in Abuja, Nigeria. We have no completed project in the UK, the USA or Australia to show yet, and this page does not pretend otherwise. It compares no prices. Ask for a quote and judge it against the others you hold.

Check one: who actually does the work

An outsourcing offer can be a studio with its own artists, or a sales office that passes the work to freelancers or to another firm. From the outside the two look alike. Ask before you send a brief.

Our answer: the modelling, rendering, films and AI work are done by one in-house team of seventeen in Mumbai. The studio was founded in 2025, so we are a young company, and you should weigh that.

  • Is the work done in-house or passed on?
  • Who will be on the review calls?
  • What do I approve first, and what comes after?
  • How many revision rounds are in the price?
  • Will you sign an NDA before I send drawings?
  • During which hours of my day can I reach you?

Check two: how feedback is handled

Distance makes a misunderstanding expensive, so the order of approvals matters more than it does with a studio in your own city. We send plain previews first, with no materials, so you can settle the camera angles and the layout. Materials and lighting come next. Final images or film come last. A change to the camera at the first stage costs little. The same change at the last stage means rendering again.

Each draft is a shared review link. You mark comments on the image, and a video call is arranged where a comment needs discussion. The quote states how many revision rounds are included, so both sides know when a change is extra. The guide to reading a 3D rendering quote shows what else a quotation should state.

Check three: confidentiality and your files

Drawings for an unbuilt scheme are sensitive, and you are sending them to another country. Ask a studio what it signs and who sees the files. We can sign a non-disclosure agreement before you send anything. Tell us who should receive review links and whether the finished work may appear in our portfolio. If your firm has its own rules for file transfer, we use the service you specify.

Check four: time-zone overlap with the UK, USA and Australia

India does not change its clocks, so the gap moves by an hour when yours do. The table shows what overlaps. For clients in the USA there are almost no shared office hours, so written comments on the review link carry most of the feedback. We do not promise overnight delivery. Dates are set in the quote.

Where you areIndia isWhat overlaps
United KingdomFour and a half hours ahead in summer, five and a half in winterYour morning is our afternoon. Calls fit in your morning.
USA, east coastNine and a half or ten and a half hours aheadLittle overlap. Comments sent in your evening reach us at the start of our day.
USA, west coastTwelve and a half or thirteen and a half hours aheadNo shared office hours. Calls are early or late for one side.
Australia, east coastFour and a half or five and a half hours behindYour afternoon is our morning. Calls fit in your afternoon.

Making it look like your country

A render made abroad can get small local things wrong, and local viewers notice at once. Traffic drives on the left in the UK, Australia and India and on the right in the USA. Brick sizes, roof pitches, window types, street lights, road markings and garden plants all differ. Send photographs of the site, the street and a few finished buildings nearby, and tell us anything a local would expect to see.

The words differ too. A marketing render is usually called a CGI in the UK and a rendering in the USA. Selling before completion is off-plan in the UK, off-the-plan in Australia and pre-construction in the USA. We model in metric or imperial units, as your drawings are drawn.

One document with the scope, the rounds of changes, the file sizes, the dates and the currency.

  4. 04

    Staged drafts

Camera and layout previews first, the finished look second, both reviewed on a link.

  5. 05

    Final delivery

Files are sent by download link at the size agreed.

Questions

How much does it cost to outsource 3D rendering to India?

It depends on the number of views or the length of film, how much has to be modelled and the revision rounds. We publish no rates and make no comparison with other countries. Send a brief and we send a written quote.

Do you have an office in the UK, the USA or Australia?

No. Our only office is in Prabhadevi, Mumbai. All overseas work is handled over video calls and shared review links.

Have you worked with clients outside India?

Yes. Our work on The Chambéry in Abuja, Nigeria, was done at our Mumbai studio. We do not yet have a finished project in the UK, the USA or Australia to show.

Is the work done by your own team or subcontracted?

By our own team. One in-house team of seventeen in Mumbai does the modelling, rendering, films and AI work.

Will you sign an NDA before we send drawings?

Yes. An NDA can be signed before any drawings are sent. Until then, a general description of the project is enough for a first conversation.

How do you handle the time difference with the USA?

There is little overlap in office hours. Calls are arranged early in your morning or in your evening, and written comments on the review link carry most of the feedback.

Can you work in feet and inches?

Yes. We model from your drawings in the units they use, metric or imperial.

What do you need for a quote?

Drawings or a 3D model, the number of views or the length of film, where the images will be used and the dates you are working to. Reference images help us match the look you expect.
