3D modelling services for websites, augmented reality and renders

Start a project

Digital 3D models of products and furniture, built to be turned in a browser, placed in a room with augmented reality (AR), or rendered for stills and films.

Overview

A 3D model is a digital copy of an object: its shape, its materials and its colours. We build models of products and furniture from your drawings, CAD or photographs. One model can serve a website, AR and renders.

The first question is what the model is for. A model for a film can be heavy and very detailed. A model for a website or for AR has to be light enough to load on a phone. They are built from the same information and finished differently. This page explains the three uses and which page to read for each. Our 3D modelling studio is in Mumbai and works with brands across India and abroad.

What it covers

  • 01

    Product models

An accurate 3D product model, with the real dimensions, materials and label artwork.

  • 02

    Models for a website

A GLB file, the 3D format that browsers read. The shopper can turn it, zoom in and inspect it on the page.

  • 03

    Models for AR

A GLB file for Android and a USDZ file for iPhone, at true scale, ready for an AR viewer.

  • 04

    Models for renders

A detailed version used for product stills, films and room sets.

  • 05

    Kept small

Web and AR models are optimised and compressed, so pages still load on mobile data.

  • 06

    Catalogues

A range of products modelled to one standard, so every item looks consistent on the site.

What 3D modelling covers here

3D modelling means building an object on a computer so that it can be seen from any side. On this page it means products and furniture. We also model buildings and rooms, and that work is part of 3D rendering and is quoted with it.

We make digital models only. We do not make physical scale models or 3D prints.

There are three pages under this one. 3D product modelling is the base service: an accurate model of each product. 3D models for websites covers the viewer that lets a shopper turn the product on a product page. AR-ready 3D models is for brands that already have an AR platform and need files that meet its requirements.

One model, three uses: what to ask for

Tell us every place the model will be used before we start. Adding a use later is possible, and planning for it at the start is less work.

What we need to build a model

Product CAD is the most direct start, because the dimensions are already exact. If there is no CAD, we work from a physical sample, or from photographs taken from every side with the main dimensions written down.

  • Product CAD, if it exists
  • Or a sample, or photographs of the front, back, sides and top
  • Overall dimensions: width, depth and height
  • Label and packaging artwork
  • Material and colour references, including every variant
  • Where the model will be used: website, AR, renders or all three

How 3D modelling charges are worked out

We quote 3D modelling per model. A 3D modelling company or a freelancer may instead quote per hour. A price per model is easier to compare, because you know the total before work starts.

The charge for a model depends on the shape, the number of parts, the materials and whether CAD exists. A plain table is less work than a carved chair or a product with moving parts. Variants in colour or fabric cost less than new shapes, because the shape is reused. A catalogue is quoted as a batch, and similar items share work.

Tell us the number of products and send a few typical ones. The quote lists the models, the formats, the revision rounds and the schedule.

How it runs

  1. 01

    Brief

You send CAD, samples or photographs, the dimensions and the list of uses.

  2. 02

    Quote

We count the models and the variants and send a quote with a schedule.

  3. 03

    Shape

The object is modelled, and you check the proportions against the real product.

  4. 04

    Materials

Colours, textures and label artwork are applied and reviewed.

  5. 05

    Export

The model is optimised and delivered in the formats you need, such as GLB and USDZ.

Questions

How much does a 3D model cost in India?

It is quoted per model. The price depends on the complexity of the shape, the materials, the number of variants and whether CAD exists. Send a few typical products and we send a quotation.

Is 3D modelling charged per hour or per model?

We quote per model, or per batch for a catalogue, so the total is known before work starts. Hourly rates are common with freelancers. If you are given one, ask for an estimate of the hours per model.

Can you build a model from photos, or do you need CAD?

Either. CAD gives exact dimensions. Without it we use a sample, or photographs from every side with the main measurements. The more complete the references, the fewer corrections later.

What is a GLB file, and what is USDZ?

Both are 3D file formats. GLB is used by web browsers and by Scene Viewer, the AR viewer on Android. USDZ is used by Quick Look on iPhone. A product that should work in AR on both kinds of phone needs both files.

Will the same model work on my website and in AR?

Yes, if it is built for that. A web and AR model is kept small and set to true scale. Our guide to adding a 3D model to a website explains the steps.

Can I see an example of a web 3D model?

Yes. There are live 3D models on our home page that you can turn and zoom in the browser.

Do you make physical models or 3D prints?

No. We make digital 3D models for screens: websites, AR, images and films.
